Abstract:
Current through 2013. The Fire History point coverage was created originally by the Nez Perce National Forest to describe the spatial location and provied statistics of wildfires on or near the Nez Perce portion of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Statistics include date, cause, cost, size, and agency responsible for management. Source attributes for the wildfires were drawn from the fire record books of the Nez Perce National Forest from 1970 - 2004 and the Kansas City FAST database for 2004 through 2013. It should be noted that fire locations for the years up to the end of 1985 were reported by section number only. From 1986 on fire point locations were reported by latitude and longitude. Fire locations for the time period 1970-1986 coincide with the centroid of the sections (PLSS) for lack of more specific information.

This information is intended for cartographic use and spatial analysis.
